I have worked with Rhona and her team for over four year at events in Bangkok, Dubai and London and soon, Kuala Lumpur. I have known Rhona since the mid-nineties when she was working at P&O events, developing their portfolio of events in China. I watched the way she works and integrates seamlessly into local cultures, managing venues, local staff and contractors and, very importantly for me, how she looks after our BESA members participating in the events on which she works. When I assumed responsibility for our education event in Dubai a couple of years ago, I inherited Rhona as the Conference Director. As I was new to the industry, I found her knowledge, experience and contacts to be invaluable and I have been really impressed with the way that Rhona and her team have integrated during the subsequent development of the exhibition and conference. I am delighted to have somebody of Rhona’s calibre on our team, particularly as she already has strong relationships with the international trade associations, regional exhibitors and industry stakeholders. Rhona plays a pivotal role in the continued development of the Global Education Forum with the UAE’s Ministry of Education; she has a remarkable creative flair for developing new ideas for features and conference content that serve to enhance the show.

I have taken part in various international events that Rhona has been involved in over the past few years. I got to know Rhona during my time as Deputy Director General for Education at the Ministry of Education in Malaysia. I have enjoyed discussions with Rhona on educational requirements and content for conferences and have been pleased with the way Rhona interprets the content in the conference and workshop programmes she produces. I was invited to be a keynote speaker at the Global Education Forum in Dubai and had the pleasure of working with Rhona again.

I accepted to Rhona’s request to be a speaker for a printing conference she was organising in Dubai. The entire experience was perfectly organised and overall a great experience. The experience from beginning to end, including travel, hotel, ground transfers, etc., was flawless. I speak around the world dozens of times per year. This was a top-drawer event, thanks to the professional staff. The panel and other speaker line up were excellent and I enjoyed my time at the event and in Dubai and would certainly be happy to work with Rhona again anywhere in the world.

first worked with Rhona during my time as an export promoter for UKTI when she was launching an event for IBE in London called Airport, Port and Terminal Security, APTS in London. This was at a peak time after 9/11 when UK PLC was promoting its security expertise to the USA. As well as recruiting several distinguished government speakers for APTS in London, Rhona went on to run a unique ‘meet the buyer’ event for UKTI in Washington and has subsequently managed events for me in several different companies since that time culminating in the production for AViCON 2010 in London last year. Rhona and her team are creative, friendly and highly professional with world wide experience and I would recommend using Alarming Events for a variety of services, from marketing, business development, account management, venue finding, event management, and client liaison.

I enjoyed working with Rhona and the team in Malaysia and Dubai as a keynote speaker and workshop leader. The event was well organised and certainly made good use of my time and there were plenty of opportunities to develop fruitful relationships in the education industry with Ministries and educationalists.
